design notes (for future reference)
idea origin: one day, i was thinking about nelder-mead, as one does. realized that a simplex morphing and exploring an objective function landscape was vaguely horny... the more dimensions, the more horny
originally the objective function was going to be randomized by summing 2 random functions from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Test_functions_for_optimization, but figuring out what font size to use for KaTeX would have been a nightmare
"shrink" was originally merged with "contract", but that led to too many reflect/contract trills
the wireframe sphere was originally a debug visualization, but it looked cool enough to leave in
music is in c# major to ensure that no note is played on an open string (for consistency)
some inspirations:
- iidx/ddr (general layout, gameplay)
- luxuria superbia (gameplay)
- amplitude (originally "finale" was going to be called "freestyle", but that was a bit too silly)
- auditorium (sound design)
Polytope
expand. reflect. contract. shrink. find convergence.
